Barn Find-Little Wooden Stool

Well do you all remember the cute little stool I posted a few weeks ago? Well if you don’t here it is. [caption id="attachment_96" align="alignnone" width="225"]Here is the before photo of the stool Here is the before photo of the stool[/caption] Cute right? So you can see why I was so excited to work on it. I couldn’t decide which route to take. I had a lot of request to make it a “time out” chair and I thought about doing that, but I really wanted it to be special. Then it hit me! I’m gonna repurpose and refurbish, and I’m gonna do it all in one piece of furniture and it’s gonna be fabulous! [caption id="attachment_97" align="alignnone" width="225"]Antique Pillowcase and the stool. Antique Pillowcase and the stool.[/caption] Sounded like a solid plan and I even had a brilliant idea on how to accomplish my little task! I remembered I had a few antique pillowcases. What luck! Antique pillowcases +Old stool =AMAZING….But my math was all wrong. Here, have a look. [caption id="attachment_99" align="alignnone" width="300"]How boring! How boring! [/caption] BLAH! Boring and an Epic Fail. I was gutted and I felt like giving my poor little stool a swift kick down the driveway. I decided to walk away but if you are just like me you can’t just walk away, cuz it stays and eats away at you. I had a vision, for crying out loud! What to do, what to do. I decided to rummage through my swatches of fabric but nothing looked right and it didn’t go with the whole plan of repurposing something. I wandered into my bedroom and sat down on the corner of the mattress. Im not gonna lie, laying down and sulking did cross my mind. Then as I sat there staring aimlessly into my closet it all came into focus. Literally, all the crap in my closet came into focus and I saw this forgotten shopping bag I never used but bought because I thought it was “SO CUTE!”. [caption id="attachment_100" align="alignnone" width="225"]Cute bag I picked up at Old Navy for $1.00! Cute bag I picked up at Old Navy for $1.00![/caption] Bingo! Here was my solution. I ran down the stairs and showed my hubby who also though I found resolution. Well here is the finished product! A stool, painted in a distressed lavender with a repurposed Paris themed shopping bag! What do you think? [caption id="attachment_101" align="alignnone" width="225"]J'adore Paris! J'adore Paris![/caption]
